Quizizz Maths Game.

Today for maths we played a game called quizizz were you have to challenge your class mates with math equations. It is really fun to compete against other people I know in class and it really helps with your maths.
It was awesome seeing Mrs Anderson play with us and she came 1st!!

Maths: Decimals.

Today for maths I was learning how to recognize and use decimals. At first I thought decimals would be really hard but doing the worksheet today has made me realize that they are really easy! I also found out that decimals are like fractions and that made me think more! It was awesome and I can't believe i'm saying this but it was fun!!!

Quizizz: Recalling My Times Tables Fast.

Today I practiced recalling my times tables at speed. We played on an online interactive maths game called Quizizz were you get ranked in order from 1st place to 30th place. I had 10 seconds to answer before it ranked me in place. We all played it as a class, I had 100% accuracy which means I got nothing wrong. It was a race to see who can recall their times tables fast, you can also play fractions to help with recalling those fast too. It was so  uch fun and I can't wait to do it next time!

.Transum Maths

This week I am practicing my 8 times tables! First I had to write down the times table, then I had to go over it on a document ten times to learn it. When I finished that I knew the 8's and I played the transum maths game Fast Factors to practice recalling the times table as fast as I could! My first time took around 60 seconds to finish but I wanted to keep going until I got faster. When I tried again I got 45 seconds. Now I am able to recall my 8 times table fast in my mind!

Eako-Maths Place Value.

Today I practiced my place value maths on E-ako maths. In the lesson I practiced today I had to find out how much of the number I would get in 1 thousand NZ notes, (Even Though We Don't Have Them!) For example if I had 38,000 and I wanted that number in 1 thousand dollar notes I would get 380 1000 dollar notes!

E-ako Maths.

Today on E ako maths I practiced my place value and fractions. I had to tick which statements were true for example: Poppy had 3/4. It was fun and I have practiced more with fractions.

E- Ako Maths: Place Value.

Today I practiced my maths on a website called E ako maths. The task was in te reo maori and maths. It was a fun task and when we were asked if we wanted to stop we didn't. It was interesting because it involves place value and fractions! I loved it so much I can't wait for the next time we do it!

LS2's Favorite Movie Category.

Daniel and I had to go round the class and ask people what their favorite movies types are! The different types were Sci- Fi, Zombie, Sports, Action, Adventure, Mystery, Fantasy, comedy,horror,murder and romance. The classes favorite type of movie is action because they love to watch guns firing and things exploding. It was a fun activity to help us with our maths.

Sum Dog Maths

Today I played a maths game on the website Sumdog. The game is called snowball and it helps you to learn how many things there are and much more. You can change the equations to addition, subtraction,multiplication and lots of other equations. I like to play this game because it helps me to learn my maths in a fun way.

Today I practiced my maths on sumdog. The game was called tower climber. The aim of the game is to answer as many questions as you can to beat the other players and if you get the answers correct you climb higher! E-ako Maths: Place Value And Fractions

Today on E ako maths I practiced place value with tens and ones! The questions were interesting and fun at the same time. Some of the questions involved place value and fractions which helped me practice both of these subjects in maths.

Maths Strategy.

Me and Manu have made this DLO to show our strategy. We had to look at an example DLO and then make our own! We made our DLO and put the answer on it. Then we added the strategy to the DLO. The strategy made us think better and we finished the DLO.

Latham And Sakae Maths Strategy.

Me and Sakae made this strategy DLO to show our thinking. The question we had to answer was, 381 marathon runners started a race. How many finished the race if 127 retired before the end?
So we took away 81 from 381 and we got 300 then we took away 127 from the 300 and we got 173. After that we brought the 81 and 173 back and added them together and the answer was 254. Which means 254 runners finished the race.

Sumdog Maths

Today I went back and practiced some basic facts on sumdog. The game I played was called endangered and you answer questions and if you get it correct then you can chose a block to break and you keep breaking the block until your animal if freed from their cage. It is fun to play and it helps with your maths.

Chinese Dragon Ordering And Sequencing.

For maths I played this Chinese Dragon ordering and sequencing game! You have drag the correct numbers into the dragons body. It is a fun game and it teaches you how to order and sequence numbers!

Sumdog Maths

I played this maths game to help with my maths. The game is called sumdog and you can choose between different types of equations like addition, multiplication and others. The game I played on sumdog is called junkyard and it is an addition game where you drag the correct answer and if you get it correct you take a couch,toilet and other yucky items and the way to win the game is by stacking the most  items in the amount of time.

Why Its Good To Learn Maths In School!

This is a movie John, Zahn and I have made! We made it using I Movie. It is about two friends, (ME AND ZAHN!) Zahn is the brainy friend and I am the not so brainy friend. The brainy friend knows his maths and I have to keep looking at his. But one day he thought it was enough and he demanded me to learn my maths! But I didn't know how? So he got all of his things ready. 

You'll have to watch the movie to find out if he learns his maths!

What is problem solving in maths? Does it only happen in maths.

Today we had to write a quick write of what we know about problem solving and if it only happens in maths? This is my quick write!

Problem solving is developing maths knowledge! It is not just used in maths for example (Buying things at the shop, Finding how much you get payed in pocket money and much more!)

Problem solving can be figuring out the answer, working with bigger numbers and using different strategies! Problem solving helps you work out solutions in maths.

But when you're using problem solving outside of maths it could help with a lot of things. I think it’s not just used in maths but it's used outside of it too!

Problem Solving

Halatoa ate twice as many pancakes as Sebastian at lunchtime. Sebastian had another 3 pancakes for afternoon tea. Altogther they ate 18 pancakes. How many pancakes did Halatoa eat?

6x2=12

12+6=18

The reason I got this is because it said that Halatoa ate twice as much pancakes than Sebastian. And it said Sebastian ate three so i’m sure Halatoa ate 6?
