LS2 2016 Reflection.

Today Sylis and I made a movie. The movie we made was about our 2016 reflection. We took photos from the LS2 Shared Photos folder and made a collage from the year. We added our kiwi sport, school trips and work. It was fun because we looked at the photos and it reminded us of some good times we had this year.

Rockets at TC.

Today we had our final rocket session at TC. I worked with Sylis on our rocket 'THE DON.' It was so fun making the rocket. Then once we were ready we loaded the rocket with explosives and set off. We had so much fun and when we set off our rocket it went up so high and landed back with one hole in the side of it! It was funny and we thank Miss Ferguson and Mr Dunn for all their time.

How to make a straw rocket.

Today I made this DLO on how to make a straw rocket. After Friday we all know how to make a straw rocket and we had to show how to make one on a DLO. It is really fun and will have you glued to playing with this tiny little toy!

Godwit Multimodal: Group D.

Today for reading group D followed up on Godwits using Mrs Anderson's multi modal site. We had to independently read the Godwit text and ask questions in our groups. First we used our prior knowledge and recorded it on our DLO. Some types of transport were the same as 100 years ago like Cars, Planes, Boats and more. We had so much fun and we were all included in the group and could all contribute questions and answers.
Here is the link to visit the multi modal site: https://sites.google.com/a/panmurebridge.school.nz/digital-footsteps-2016/kuaka-is-their-migratory-journey-necessary

Rockets at TC: Fair Test DLO.

On Friday Reon, Sylis and I created this DLO about rockets. We went to Tamaki college to make straw rockets and real rockets. We started by making a straw rocket out of a straw, sellotape and paper. It was so much fun. We recorded our results and averages on this DLO! Miss Ferguson 3D printed a plastic rocket called the "Carrot". It went so high we couldn't find where it landed!

Dear T1 Latham- 2016

LI: To reflect on personal goals set in term 1.

Dear Term 1 Latham,
I showed confidence and sportsmanship this year. I presented every week with confidence and could speak very clearly into the microphone! I reached my yearly goal of becoming a leader and helping people with computers and technology. I entered a movie competition and reached a great position. I can’t believe how fast this year has come and I am really excited to start college next year. Even if I didn’t reach 1st place in my goal, I am willing to try again next year with Edgewaters film club! I am really happy I reached 500 blog posts this year,
see you again sometime.
From Term 4 Latham- 2016

I wrote this letter to my term 1 self and explained how the year went this year and how I reached my yearly goal of becoming a manaiakalani leader.

Hundertwasser Art Project.

Hundertwasser

Today I completed my art project. We based our art on an artist by the name of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. He was an Austrian man who made the hundertwasser toilets up north in New Zealand! My art includes 2 3D houses, rain drops, and a lot more! I have a challenge... Can you spot the 4 faces hidden somewhere in the picture? I look forward to doing more art projects like this!

Pigeon DLO.

For reading we focused on pigeons for a couple of weeks! Lyndon, Cecillia, Jessie, Juanita, Ma'ata and Harlem were in my group called group D. Did you know that pigeons can start mating and can reproduce (make babies) from the age of 7 months! We made this presentation for all our information on pigeons, also we stated why pigeons are pests and added information about Cher Ami who was a famous pigeon in WW1 and she saved over 100 soldiers by carrying a message over the front line.

Hockey T4 W7

Yesterday at hockey we practiced juggling the ball on the stick and dribbling the ball. We started by dribbling, for that we played a game were you have to dribble your own ball whilst stealing and hitting other peoples balls out. When there are only a few players left sharks are able to come in and they just need to hit the balls out of the court! After that we had to juggle the ball on our sticks and count how many bounces we can get in a minute. After that we had a challenge were as soon as we drop the ball we have to sit down! I had heaps of fun and I can't wait for next weeks session!

Godwit Migration Storyboard.

Made with Storyboard That
For our godwit inquiry us year 8's made this storyboard about the godwit migration. My storyboard is a quick story about the godwits and they migrate from Tahuna Torea in New Zealand all the way to Alaska. It normally takes 8 or more days to fly and regather fuel for the long trip upon the way.
Also to read the storyboard up close click on the image!

Dialogue DLO.

For writing we are focusing on Speech Marks. I made this DLO to show how to use them and what other words you can use instead of using said. That is called a synonym, for example you can have big and call it Gigantic, or like me you can call it Prodigious! I had a lot of fun experimenting with new words and ways to make dialogue in storys or novels interesting.

Reading Knowledge Game.

For reading I played this game to test my reading skills. The topic in the game was about how squirrels collect nuts and where they find them. You need to read the story then answer the questions, you need to roll the dice to go to the next part of the story. I had a lot of fun playing this game and testing my knowledge.

5 Minute Recount W Sylis.

It was cold, my feet at the surface of the sea. There was no hope at all, Then out of the blue I saw a helicopter. My heart raced, I tried my best to swim up. “We are coming just stay calm” Yelled a man from the, A rope then lowered and someone grabbed me, “Was I gonna be saved” I asked myself. I felt my heart drop, the sudden beat as if it was going to explode! I felt as if I was not going to survive, Then I fell asleep. I could faintly hear my father yelling, “You can’t let him go….”. I woke up in the hospital with my family near by. Grabbing a hold of my mums hand, I felt as if I was surrounded by light. I was fine, I was safe.

For writing we had to sit back to back and write a 5 minute recount. I worked with Sylis, we had a lot of fun describing ways of drowning. Our story is about a boy stuck at sea, in the current and he passes out and goes into death's row.

The Shake Out Results.

Today we found out the results for my movie the Shakeout which I entered in the Outlook for Someday challenge. Unfortunately we did not make the on of 20 winners but at least we were shortlisted! At the start of the competition there were over 116 competitors and we made it down to 39 films! I am really proud of my group who acted for this, my mum for helping with the emails, Mr Wong for all the help with editing and getting my film to the people and to Mrs Anderson for showing me the competition and for helping with everything. Thanks for all your support and I really appreciate the support from around the school.

Godwit Popplet.

For inquiry we are focusing on Bar Tailed Godwits. Reon, Thomas and I have created this Popplet about their diets, appearance and the predators that hunt for them.  We did this activity so we could have a better understanding of what the godwit is and what they eat, who their predator's they are hunted by. I had lots of fun and I really enjoy researching for this topic.

Paper Planes Measurement.

Today for maths we measured how far the plane flew. After that  everyone group had to choose which persons plane was the best and recreate it. Everybody's group paper plane was tested. We had heaps of fun testing them out. Thomas had won the class test with his groups plane, I am happy with how far my groups plane flew and can't wait to do this activity again.

Recount Quiz.

For writing we are focusing on recounts. We took this quiz to see how much we really knew about recounts. After taking the quiz I pressed finish and I am so relieved I got 10 out of 10! It is good to be able to challenge and see how much you really know. To try the quiz yourself here is the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/quiz/q84237180

Pigeon Multi Modal Site.

For reading Mrs Anderson created a multi modal pigeon site! For reading we are focusing on pigeons and how they work the pigeon post. On this site you can listen to audio about the pigeons or watch videos. To find this site here is the link: https://sites.google.com/a/panmurebridge.school.nz/digital-footsteps-2016/pigeons-special-or-pests

Paper Planes Collage.

For maths our class had the most fun activity ever! We had to get into our groups and all make a paper plane. We could use any type of template or one from the top of our heads. After we made them we were able to test them on the park, LS2 or the field. My plane went very far, when I tried it inside it swifted across the room like a bird! I enjoyed this type of learning and would love to do it again!

The Red Baron Timeline.

I have created this timeline about Manfred von Richthofen who was the pilot who flew the famous WW1 plane, the Red Baron. It's interesting that a bunch of Aussies claimed in WW1 to have been the people who shot down the Baron.
I used lucidchart to

500 Blog Posts!

On Friday I reached 500 blog posts! Out of all my blog posts for every year I have reached this awesome achievement! As one of the Manaiakalani leaders and to have reached this amount of posts is amazing.

Thanks to Mrs Anderson for creating a 500 blog posts award GIF for everyone who has reached this achievement!

Jean Batten Timeline.

Thomas and I have created this timeline about Jean Batten. For inquiry this term we are focusing on flight, it was fun and quite interesting to research about her and her life.

Spirit Facts.

How might spirits find a host?
Spirits don’t really have a method for finding hosts, they just choose somebody who looks like they did before they died, as it makes them feel alive again. Other spirits could be conjured up but that is not a very safe choice to make!

Why might spirits haunt places?
Sometimes when people who pass on and their family has owned it for generations they tend to return to the homes. Most people can contact spirits or contact people who can see spirits or they feel a presence which could be good, but it can also be bad!

How could you get rid of a spirit once it has found a host?
You can kindly ask it to leave. Some spirits don’t think they're dead so explain to them that they died. Use your imagination to see people you love. If it is a bad spirit then you need to seek help from a priest or a demon expert.
Is it possible to see spirits?

Psychics can read and see spirits, and they can also talk to them. Other people are gifted and have the ability to see spirits.

Thomas, Sylis and I have created these facts on spirits! For our mini inquiry we have to research something to do with what letter we got. We all got S, so we came up with Spirits. After this we are making a movie about spirits and will be completed soon!

1st Person Owl Narrative.

                   Radical Food.

It was a dark, wet day. Mum and us boys were starving.
“Mum, i’m cold, i’m hungry!” we all moaned.

“I am sorry boys, but you just won’t try flying, I am telling you it would be easier and you can hunt for your own food!”

“But, b…”

“But what, you will otherwise have to eat my regurgitated food, and you need fresh food!”

We all know we won’t gain any nutrients being lazy and eating mums spew! It was time, we perched on our branch.

“Ok boys, all you have to do is keep your thrust levels straight, otherwise you will fall!”
The rain started to clear,
“Ok go!” yelled mum.

We flew off, we could hear mum at the back of us, “Keep your thrust leveled!”
We could see how hard it was to control ourselves! I started to panic, I remember dad saying keep single file, but now he isn’t here to see our achievement. I began to see these massive figures flying towards us in the distance,

“Boys get back!”
We didn’t know how to, mum was more focused on finding us fresh food that she didn’t remember to teach us how to brake! I was really scared, at that point my feathers were soaking wet, poor people down below! The speed we built up started to make us glide, it was hard to keep in single file! The figures got closer and closer, I was in front. The figures were bald eagles!

“Boys, move now we don’t have time!”

We all wondered what mother was on about, then we clicked. The eagles will easily eat us up, or worse take home as prey!

“Mum, what do we do?” I screamed.

I assume that we will have to lower our thrust! I was in front meaning I lead,
“Guys, lower!” I explained.

I could see the eagles following on, and mum at the end!

“Mum, they’re near you!”

I managed to brake and swift through the trees and back to mum, I could see them smacking and pecking her! She couldn’t cope, down she went!
I couldn’t take it, first dad now mum, It will be hard! I am the oldest and I must protect my siblings, we must go to the most dangerous place to find the most radical food around, and that's the eagles habitat!

“Where are we going?” they all asked.

After 3 hours of flying we reached our destination. We split up into three groups, I lead on the trail. There they were, golden brown eggs perched up on the tiny branch. We were in for a feast.
“Quiet!” I demanded. We quickly grabbed an egg each and launched off, not knowing what would happen next...

Cybersmart DLO.

After Mrs Ogilvie came into teach the y8's about being cyber smart I made this DLO using the information she had given us. It shows what types of keywords to use and a website called Britannica school where they have biography's about specific people from a to z. It was fun making this and I hope it works!

Reading Challenge T4.

For reading we paired up into groups to explore the reading challenge. We started by getting together, after that we grabbed the first story. We had to read it and write a 25 word sentence to retell the story in our own words. The next task was tickling fish. We had to follow the instructions and fill in the blank words. That was a fun task! Once we had finished the tasks we got to do the super challenge which was another fill in the blanks but longer and harder! In the end we all marked our work and I had a fun time working with my group and it was a fun way to explore and follow the instructions given.

Cybersmart.

Today LS1's Mrs Ogilvie came into the library to teach us Y8's about being cyber smart! We learnt tips with keywords to make it easier for when we search for something on the net. We were shown a website called Britannica school where you can search for the keywords and it easily shows up with it! It was so much fun and awesome to meet Mrs Ogilvie. Thanks for helping and showing us ways to research for things easier!

Dehydration DLO

At PBS we are a water only school! Thomas and I have created this DLO to show why water is important to drink and that it keeps you hydrated. Without drinking water you will find that you sometimes feel dizzy or sick and when like that you lack concentration keeping you from working. If you try drinking when in class you wont feel dehydrated, and your work will be finished!!

Forces Of Flight.

Today for inquiry we focused on the forces of flight. We learnt about velocity and gravity. We also learnt about thrust and that it will overcome drag to keep it propelled. The inertia is another word for pull, or drag! It was fun and really interesting. Thanks to Ms Kirkpatrick for teaching us the things we did not know about flight!

Y8 Dance 2016.

Today we had our first dance practice for graduation this year! It started really easy with the rock and roll dance. Us boys had to put our left foot back then quickly put our right one in front, after that we stepped to the side and slowly changed to the other side. It was actually fun doing that! Then we partnered with a girl, it began to get awkward! We had to hold their right hand and put our right hands on their waists. After that we learnt the basics of the cha cha. We would stamp our left foot and cha cha to the side and then change and stomp our right foot. In the end we were able to pull it off with our partner. Thanks to Sonja for helping us with today's dance lesson!

Holiday Reading Book Cover Task.

For the holiday reading task these holidays I have recreated the book cover of Anthony Horowitz's Point Blank story. The reason I decided to do this book is because it is action packed and I already knew it would be fun to make, especially with explosions!

Stig Wemyss Panmure Library Show.

Last Friday Stig Wemyss visited the panmure library. He is an audio book narrator who narrates the audio books writted by Andy Griffiths. It was a really funny show with audio book prizes and jokes. His entrance to the stage was like at a rock concert. He ran in everybody screamed out! Then he got Fraidoon to get up and throw him to the ground, after that he squirted Fraidoon with a water bottle. He was soaking wet. After that there was a game called sausage. He picked people to come up and answer his questions and your response had to be "Sausage!" Zahn was the only person who could complete the game, because he kept an angry face. I got to go up and play chubbie bunny, first he read us a story by Andy Griffiths called: Chubbie Bubbies! It was exited when I was picked to play. I managed to fit 8 full sized marshmallows in my mouth. At the end me and Afu were each given an audio book, my audio book was the 78 story tree house. It was awesome to meet and receive one of Stig's audio books and I hope to go to another show like that.
Here is a link to his website if you would like to find out more about him. -http://www.stig.com.au/books-stig-has-narrated-2/

Tongan Language Week Pourquoi Story.

How The Ngatu Came To Tonga.

Somewhere, some place, beyond the Seven Seas Captain Cook and his crew set off towards a village in Tonga.

We could all hear the ships, we knew there was a war. Mum and I kept back at hope whilst Fefe and Afa ran out. “Fefe you're the oldest so I don’t want you or your brother getting killed!” demanded the mum.
“Yes mum, Afa better listen or i’ll push him into the battle!”

“Don’t be nonsensical, now get your spears and stay safe, I’m counting on you boys to be our villages heroes!!” replied the mum.

Fefe and Afa ran out their puny little house. “Get down..” English men fired their guns, they all wondered who these new type of people were! “THEY HAVE GUNS!” yelled Afa. All the men kept reloading their muskets, Afa and Fefe had a plan. They figured out  how long it took the men to reload. The brothers and the tribe strategized ways to avoid the bullets by studying the soldiers movements. They could see immense bags lined up against the piles of dirt! They had men operating the cannons from the ships and soldiers down on the beach. Afa noticed that some men had swords, that easily meant they could annihilate them. “Fefe, let's move forward!”
“What, no you’ll get us killed!”
“Hey Fefe, whats that colored thing in the bag over there?”
“What that cloth?” replied Fefe.

They began to see things that their village had never experienced before, an artifact! An english man ran up to them, Fefe plunged his spear smashing against him repeatedly. Fefe and Afa felt their adrenaline pumping, nothing like this has never happened in their village.

“Fefe, i’m going to run up to them!”
“No…” Afa then pulled himself up from the dirt and began approaching the english men. It was too late to get him, Afa had already sealed his fate. The guns got fervorous, Fefe knew that mum couldn't live without Afa. Sadly he was gone...

Fefe remembered what their plan was, he started drawing in the sand. “Where are the rest of them?” inquired Captain Cook.
Fefe dived into the luminous water, he could see the ships. Than out of nowhere a man grabbed Fefe, Fefe tried breaking the man’s grip. The water was clear enough to see, Fefe punched the man, smashing him down. Fefe reached down, *Gurgle*

Bullets plunged through the water, Fefe had reached the ship! “Well, well, well who do we have here?”
“I am here for that artifact in your bag!”
The men were all amazed that Fefe could speak english. Fefe had learnt english when gifted a magical rock, giving him that ability.
Fefe kicked a guard, pulling out his spear. The men formed a circle surrounding Fefe. Captain Cook watched from the top of the ship. Fefe smashed his spear, the force jabbing through the man.

In the end Fefe and his tribe managed to annihilate the crew. Captain Cook began to flee the village, leaving the bags behind. Fefe and the tribe charged towards the ship. Days later the tribe had reached a little place called Hawai’i. The Tongans and Hawaiians kept hidden whilst Captain cook and the rest of his crew came aboard. Fefe could see the men walking slowly, loading their muskets. One man heard a branch snap, he shot! The tribe ambushed the men.

They began fighting. Fefe grabbed hold of Cook, the soldiers spread out rotting on the corpulent sand. Captain Cook was then killed on the 14th in 1779. Fefe and his family were famous for what they did. Fefe found the cloth and that's how Tonga discovered the Ngatu, just like Cook discovered Tonga.

Making peace towards family and representing your people. There is a fine line between bravery and recklessness, and recklessness is not a good thing!

This is my story I made for Tongan language week, It is a mythical story about a boy called Fefe who helps his villages tribe to victory.  A pourquoi story is a mythical made up story to tell how something came to tonga!

Magic Box Poem.

I will put into the box...
The shavings of ice percolating down the airy sides.
Heat from the fiery forces encompassing within the four walls.
A pinch of spearmint stabbing acuminously against the fabricated surface.
A touch of love and forgiveness.

I will put into the box …
The wisdom of protection.
Shock of capability from the forces of obscurity.
And treasure dropped from the celestial spheres above.

I will put into the box …
The hate precipitating into a tenacious spot.
Letters of doubt fullness overflowing.

My box is fashioned from diamonds and gold and on the lid the wisdom which overtakes eternity.

Its hinges are fastened with the world's most finest leather which tells very decisive tales.

I shall put into box
A stone of devotion and infatuation.
A heart of of courage and salvation,
the hope of compassion.

This is my magic box poem. I had to think of descriptive language to put into this poem. I am happy with this poem and had lots of fun!

Cross Country.

Today we did our school cross country over at Dunkirk park. I was pumped to race then it started to rain. I was actually quite excited to run in the rain. We waited for our turn and finally it was time. We ran off, I kept my pace. I could see Thomas and Gozan in front, I was feeling puffed. My heart was racing, I didn't want to hit the wall (when your legs are too tied to run and your head can't cope with it and you blackout!) Then I realized it was the final lap, I was so happy to hear that. I finally finished the 4 laps, I came 4th!

The Sons Of Ma'Afu Sketch Note.

This week is Tongan language week and for reading I have read this story called The Sons Of Ma'Afu. I had to read the text and do the follow up task with a critical friend. Once we finished the follow up I went off and created a sketch note based on the information I had gotten from the book. In the end of the story its says that you can see The sons of Ma'Afu up in the sky!

Maths: Decimals.

Today for maths I was learning how to recognize and use decimals. At first I thought decimals would be really hard but doing the worksheet today has made me realize that they are really easy! I also found out that decimals are like fractions and that made me think more! It was awesome and I can't believe i'm saying this but it was fun!!!

Read Theory

For 20 minutes in class we boost our reading knowledge by logging on to Read Theory. It helps us to read the text and answer the questions. When you get a bit stuck with the questions you can go back and read the text to look for information so that you understand what the question is! It is fun to challenge myself and go up different grades!

The Outlook For Someday Challenge.

For the past few weeks I have been creating a movie that I have sent into the film competition: The Outlook for Someday. I started by creating a storyboard, (My Ideas) It was fun to do that and I couldn't wait for the next part which was making props. It took ages to prepare for the movie, especially figuring out how to make the roof fall onto the table! Then it happened, I finally got to film it! After that I was able to edit and find the best possible sound effects. I am very happy how the movie came out and very exited for the results!!!!

Cross Country Training.

We have been training for our school cross country. The one thing I know to do all the time is to breath in and out and try to make my lips into a circle. I need to try to run at a normal pace and not to sprint to start with. I had fun training and it will be an exiting time for the real race.

Athletic Analysis .

This is my analysis from run, jump throw. I have found photos matching the stances that I was doing on thursday. The thing I found I did a lot was looking in front of me (Eye Contact!) instead of looking behind me, because that slows you down when participating in a race. It was actually really fun to analysis the  matching stances from the athletes.

Scratch Digi tech

This is my tech game which is not finished (YET!) It is a game where you have to go through levels finding the flags, but beware there are traps, monsters and much more but with your help the character you play as can shoot, jump. run and even fight off the hordes and traps set in this game! Olympics 2016 Current Events.

After hearing about how Abbey D'Agostino tripped when running in her race. It was nice to hear that our kiwi Nikki Hamblin was nice enough ton help her back up. I have made this current events DLO on the shocking event. After this event I see Nikki Hamblin and D'Agostino as role models for the good sportsmanship they showed.

Ancient And Modern Olympics Inquiry DLO.

Daniel and I have been working on this DLO for weeks on the Olympics. As part of our inquiry we learn about the Olympics and then create a DLO. It was the most fun and also really interesting. I found out that the married women weren't allowed to watch the men participate because it would basically count and cheating on the married men.

Olympic Venue Provocation DLO.

In class we have been learning to consider both sides of a provocation so that we can make a informed opinion. Mrs Anderson asked us to think about which point of view we felt was right. We then had to find facts on whether they should or shouldn't spend huge amounts of money on venues that could be abandoned or neglected in the future. My DLO shows my opinion and another persons opinion showing that they think they should spend that create those venues. I hope that they make the choice of using that money on things that really matter like food and medicine for poor families in Rio or other poor countries.

Run, Jump, Throw.

Today at run jump throw we practiced the starting stances. First we tried it with our left leg in front of us, "On  your marks" We bent our knees. "Set" We put our foot near the line. Gun shot or clap. We ran to the other side of the court, we then tried it with our right foot to see which foot was better to start off a race. I think the right foot was a better stance. We also learnt to run in a straight line, eyes focused at the finish line, and to stand one metre back from the line. It was an awesome time and I can't wait for the next session.

Olympics Logo DLO

This is my logo I have created for the Olympics. It represents New Zealand with the silver fern. It has the Olympic rings and says it will be coming in 2020, (NOT REALLY!) It was really fun to create it and can't wait for when New Zealand gets to host the games!

Advertising DLO

We have been focusing on advertising. We had to make this fake DLO advertisement on a hoverbike. My hoverbike is gas powered with a special seat, protective shield at the front and wings. It was an awesome activity and I even made the hoverbike myself!

Quizizz: Recalling My Times Tables Fast.

Today I practiced recalling my times tables at speed. We played on an online interactive maths game called Quizizz were you get ranked in order from 1st place to 30th place. I had 10 seconds to answer before it ranked me in place. We all played it as a class, I had 100% accuracy which means I got nothing wrong. It was a race to see who can recall their times tables fast, you can also play fractions to help with recalling those fast too. It was so  uch fun and I can't wait to do it next time!

Book Week Dressup.

This week is book week and today we all dressed up in our book characters. I was Alex Rider with a black jacket, black pants and a gun on his side. It was so awesome to dress up as him to make reading really come to life. We had a special assembly for the juniors and it was really fun, especially when gangster granny arrived! It was the best fun and my costume was surprisingly comfortable. My favorite costume of the day was Lyndon's Batman costume.

Advertising DLO.

This week we are learning about advertising. We got into groups with other pupils and wrote what we knew about advertising. We wrote our sentence and made a DLO about it. We learnt that the developers of the product use positive language to try to get people to buy it. It was fun and we learnt heaps!

Attributting Images.

If you take images from the internet and you put them on a piece of your work then you are breaking the law! Did you know their is a way to attribute the images onto your work legally. First you go to google images and you change the search settings to labeled for reuse which means the owner of the image has given you the rights to use that image. Then you insert that image into your work, after that find the link to the website of that image and insert it. Write- photo by (The Owner) and CC 2.0. Now your using images legally!

5 Minute Writing!

This is the tale of a very unpopular orangutan who gets lost in the Amazon rain forest! He was on a normal walk when suddenly he heard the trees falling and the branches snapping. The people who look after the animals, seiged to the rescue. They were helping the animals because a bulldozer was tearing apart the rain forest! They called their way to the bulldozer, "Stop, stop!" All the animals rushed but the orangutan ran so hard that he realized that there was no one and nothing near him. He ran into the plants and through the river. He went to have a drink, then a repugnant Parana jumped at him! He latched his hands onto the Parana massacring it. He then threw the dead Parana then a snake ate it up. Then he sees the bulldozer. He ran up to the bulldozer. He then threw the driver out of it and drove off! The lesson the driver learnt is to not destroy other peoples homes. Then the orangutan drove home and he lived happily ever after, until the snake ate the other snake, and the other snake ate the next snake and the next snake ate the orangutan! The End.

This is a story Lyndon and I have created! We had to take turns writing about an orangutan who gets lost in the Amazon rain forest! We wrote sentence by sentence and it was really fun! We thought it would be really funny to end it off with a snake who eats the other snake who then eats the next snake and the next snake eats the orangutan!

Visit From ASB Bank.

Yesterday Jeremy from ASB bank came to our school to talk to us about being wise with our money and how you can grow with your money. He started off the lesson by telling us about him and how his childhood was. He told us about the cross road which is taking the easy life with no challenges, so you will just cruise along then die, but taking the hard life with challenges you work hard to achieve the job you want to achieve.  Then he told us how he made money, he worked in a supermarket by stacking all the foods on the shelves and his mate and him challenged each other and they worked so hard that people and the manager saw how hard they worked. His mate worked by bringing in the trolleys from the car park and no body needed to worry about waiting for trolleys because they were always there! His mate and him worked so hard that they were promoted up to working at the checkouts. He had explained how to make money other ways by selling homemade lemonade and other things! It was really fun and he had even given us all an ASB wrist band! I think everyone is now switched on with their money.

The game was fun and the objective is to read the story then guide the correct answer into the light bulb, then you guide the wrong answer into the light bulbs which aren't lit up! It was fun and also helped me with my reading!

Shipwrecked: Story.

Today I wrote a story about a nerdy inventor who is shipwrecked on a desert island. I went onto a website called Story Starters. I spun the wheel and it came up with a nerdy inventor who is shipwrecked on a desert island! When I had my idea I wrote the story!
